Different words. Same argument. Same work the language is doing.

Run the framework.

Wardle’s framework is about how information is framed to shape belief. Applied here, AI-native marketing is not disinformation. It is selective context that shapes what the reader believes without technically lying.

What the question asks

Start with the producer and the desired belief. The message is not floating in the world neutrally. It was made by someone trying to make a reader see the company a certain way.

How Hebbia answers

Hebbia’s marketing is produced by a company that has raised $130M and needs to capture the “AI for finance” category before competitors define it.

What gets left out

Every claim is doing category work. The marketing wants you to believe not just that Hebbia has a product, but that Hebbia defines what the category should mean.

What the question asks

Look for the devices that make the claim feel stronger than the evidence shown on the page.

How Hebbia answers

Named clients stand in for evidence. Proprietary acronyms signal technical depth. An unfalsifiable promise, “the AI you were promised,” lets the reader complete the claim themselves.

What gets left out

Attention is directed toward prestige, opacity, and promise. It is not directed toward accuracy, failure cases, implementation labor, or who checks the output.

What the question asks

Ask whose world the message is built around. A tool can seem neutral because the page only shows the user who benefits from it.

How Hebbia answers

The represented perspective is the analyst’s, the enterprise buyer’s, and the investor’s. The page is written from the side of the person holding the tool.

What gets left out

Never the borrower, the worker, or the community. Those groups live downstream of the decision but outside the marketing frame.

What the question asks

Omission is not always an accident. Sometimes the missing information would interrupt the preferred reading.

How Hebbia answers

The marketing foregrounds AI-native language, workflows, trust signals, and category confidence.

What gets left out

The foundation model the product runs on. The labor that trained it. The populations affected by decisions made with it. None of these help close a deal, so none of them organize the message.

What the question asks

Follow the benefit and the risk. The audience persuaded by the marketing is not always the same group that absorbs the consequences.

How Hebbia answers

Analysts get a faster workflow. Enterprise buyers get a pitch for their own boards. The company gets a cleaner category story.

What gets left out

The populations named on Page 4 get decisions made about them by a system whose existence they may be unaware of and whose logic they cannot contest.

Hall explains how a company encodes a preferred reading. Noble shows how a clean interface can make that reading feel neutral. Wang asks who downstream bears the cost when neutral-looking systems move capital. Wardle turns all of that into a portable media literacy question: what context was selected, omitted, and arranged to shape belief without making a plainly false claim?

Together, the theories show why “AI-native” is not just a product description. It is a way of organizing trust, hiding labor, narrowing the subject, and making a category feel inevitable.

Wardle’s framework was designed for news media. It applies here because AI-native marketing is media — it constructs a preferred reality about what the technology is, who it serves, and what it costs. The construction is polished. The preferred reading is flattering. The job of media literacy is to make the construction visible before you sign the contract, take the job, or read the press release and believe it.
